Key ingredients and their function:
Elegiac acid is found in the highest concentrations in dark fruits, including blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and pomegranates. In plants, ellagic acid provides natural UV protection as well as defence against bacterial and fungal pathogens. Ellagic acid applied to sun damaged skin (mild sunburn) reduces inflammation. These properties encourage the maintenance and/or improvement of the skin’s elasticity which may result in the diminishing of fine lines and wrinkles
L- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)– Water soluble Vitamin C; triggers the amino acids to strengthen collagen and assist in brightening and smoothing skin
Hyaluronic Acid – Plumps, lubricates and moisturises the skin; prevents trans-epidermal water loss. Natural moisturising factor draws water to the cells and holds 1000 times its weight.
Lactic Acid – Lactic acid is a natural acid derived from milk, fruit, vegetables and other plants. Used for anti-aging and is also used in chemical peels. It also hydrates, increases natural barrier lipids in the outer layer of skin, lightens and brightens skin for those with age spots or darkened areas. Mainly, however, lactic acids and other AHAs are used to exfoliate the outer layer of skin, helping to reveal a softer, younger looking complexion and speeding up the rate of cell turnover.
Glycerine – Humectant that draws moisture from the air to help hydrate the skin.
